Large, creamy nut from the Amazon. Exceptionally high in selenium. Eaten raw, in trail mix, or ground into milk.
Substitutes
Macadamia Nut — 1:1. Macadamia nuts share the rich, buttery, creamy texture of Brazil nuts. Very close match in baking and snacking.
Cashew — 1:1. Cashews have similar rich creaminess. Slightly sweeter and softer than Brazil nuts but works well.
Almond — 1:1. Almonds are milder and widely available with a similar crunchy texture; they lack Brazil nuts' rich, creamy bite but work in most recipes.
